I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
